Explosive Start to Schools’ Cross-Country League

The Stockport Schools’ Cross-Country League finally kicked off on Saturday and we had a brilliant turnout of over 20 runners, many of whom were competing for the very first time.  The Year 3/4 girls got us off to a fantastic start with Sophie (Y3), Imogen (Y3) and Lauren (Y4) finishing in 9th, 10th and 11th places respectively.  This, combined with the results from the other 7 runners, translated into a 2nd place finish.  Not to be outdone, the Y3/4 boys’ team also had a top ten finisher with Isaac (Y4) in 9th and excellent runs from the rest of the team put High Lane in 3rd position.  We also had solid performances from the year 5/6 girls and boys in their races to make it a very successful day.

Milly, William and Jonathan (Year 5)

It was also nice to see some of our former High Lane runners – Evie, Melissa and Libby – who were at Woodbank Park on Saturday.
