Last week we went for a “Where is Winter?” walk to look for signs of winter, but we didn’t find many! Today we found lots of signs that winter is finally here.
Reception and Year 1 worked collaboratively so we could share our skills and knowledge.
“Sliding on the ice is fun”. “Standing on the ice is EPIC”
“There is glitter on our fence”.
“Winter is here!”.
“I’m blowing the ice to make snow”
“We’ve got ice on our hands” “LOADS OF ICE”
“The grass was really crunchy and usually it is quite slippy” “It went ‘ccccck'”
“It looks like the Northern Lights; if there were some lights up there” “A BIG BLUE SKY!”
“The leaves are sparkly”
“The sun looks like a lamp post” “It’s pointing down on the grass”
“We saw little gems all over the leaves”
“We broke the puddle”
“I’m a good explorer!”
“Jack Frost has been”
“The sticks in the puddle have frozen into ice”
“I’M HOLDING ICE!”
“My favourite icy stick”
“My gloves keep my hands warm”
We finally found winter.
Our beautiful wintry field.
We found signs that autumn has turned into winter.
Our outdoor learning environment.
You would get a cold bottom if you sit on here today!
Always remember your gloves on a cold day!
